The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) expands its network to include eight organizations from Japan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Malta, Montenegro, Germany and North Macedonia. The UWC membership committee announced the news over the weekend.
North Macedonia’s Lesya Ukrainka Ukrainian Community has been accepted into the UWC as a full-fledged member holding the status of a Ukrainian Regional Organization.
This group has been active since 2004 and promotes Ukraine by preserving cultural heritage. Since Russia’s February 2022 all-out war on Ukraine, the community has also engaged in volunteer activities that include the delivery of humanitarian aid to Ukraine and providing support to displaced persons.
New association members include the following organizations: the Ukrainian Community of Thuringia (Germany), the Foundation for the Ukrainian Community of Malta, the Ukrainian Association Dobro Djelo (Montenegro), and the Franko Ukrainian community in Sumgayit (Azerbaijan).
These organizations promote Ukrainian culture by preserving its wealth and traditions, while also providing humanitarian aid and support to displaced persons.
Supporting organizations that have joined the UWC include the Japanese Ukrainian Culture Association, the Union of Culture and Mutual Aid of Ukrainians, Konya (Türkiye), and the Ukrainian Cultural Society in Istanbul.
The UWC welcomes its new members and looks forward to fruitful cooperation in strengthening the global Ukrainian community and supporting the UWC’s key priorities of victory, rebuilding Ukraine and the development of a strong global Ukrainian community.
