Information about Ukrainian agents in Russian President Vladimir Putin’s circle paralyzes Russian authorities’ work. Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, stated this in an interview with the Bulgarian TV channel bTV.
Russia understands that Ukraine has its own sources. This information causes the occupiers to panic and conduct inspections that “will not change anything,” Budanov says.
“There was one case when they realized there was a leak of information in the team. What did they start doing? They started checking absolutely everyone… They started checking everyone who has relatives and contacts in the territory of Ukraine. As you can guess, almost everyone has them. Based on the results of this case alone, they imprisoned three people, and 31 people were fired and transferred to other places. Another large percentage of people came under pressure,” the head of Ukrainian intelligence said.
In this way, the Russian authorities paralyzed their own work, Budanov explains. It became known in February this year that there are agents in Putin’s entourage cooperating with Ukraine.
“They exist. And since the situation in the Russian Federation is actually getting worse every day, it’s getting easier every day to find people willing to cooperate,” Budanov said.
