Ukraine wants to hold Global Peace Summit in fall

Ukraine intends to hold the Global Peace Summit in the fall, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

“Autumn is very close, but there is still time to prepare for the summit and involve most of the world’s countries,” Zelenskyy said.

Implementing the Peace Formula is currently the main of the five priorities of Ukraine. “The vast majority of states and peoples of the world strive for peace and international harmony, security and reliable dismantling of the threats posed by Russia. The ten points of the Peace Formula reflect this important task,” the president explained.

Zelenskyy reminded that representatives of almost 40 countries will meet in Saudi Arabia this week to discuss ways to achieve peace in Ukraine. The first event in this format was held in June in Denmark. The global peace summit is the third step, Zelenskyy says.

“At a summit that needs – and may need – a global majority. Representatives of the North and South, East and West,” the president added.

Among other priorities of Ukraine are weapons and sanctions, Ukraine’s integration with the European Union and NATO, security guarantees and Neighborhood Policy, economy and recovery, transformation, and Ukrainians “both in Ukraine and abroad.”

The peace formula, which consists of 10 points, was presented by Volodymyr Zelenskyy last year in November.
