On Tuesday, June 21, the German government released for the first time a list with information on Germany’s military assistance to Ukraine. The government’s website provides an overview of the military assistance that Germany has or plans to provide to Ukraine which includes:
- 7 Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers and spare parts
- 54 M113 armored personnel carriers with weapons
- 30 Cheetah anti-aircraft self-propelled guns and about 6,000 rounds of ammo
- 1 IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile system capable of protecting an entire city
- 3 MARS multiple rocket launchers with ammo
- 40 reconnaissance drones
- 10 armored vehicles, 80 Toyota SUVs and 22 trucks
- 10,000 artillery shells, 5.8 million rounds for small arms
Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that the German howitzers Panzerhaubitze 2000s had finally arrived in Ukraine. He wrote on Twitter: “The Panzerhaubitze 2000 is finally part of Ukraine’s artillery arsenal of 155-mm howitzers. Our gunners will bring heat to the battlefield.”
