The Ukrainian defense industry has developed a new MAGURA V5 maritime attack drone. The device was demonstrated at an international trade show in Turkey, Promyslovyi Portal (Industrial Portal) reports.
It is a multipurpose unmanned surface ship. The hydrodynamic body and sleek profile allow the device to move stealthily with excellent maneuverability.
“It’s an affordable solution that can be easily launched from any remote location. The unmanned control of the V5 minimizes the need for human resources to carry out missions, reducing potential mortality when operating in harsh environments,” the developers say.
The new development can perform intelligence surveillance, patrolling, search and rescue operations, mine countermeasures, naval protection, and combat missions.
The length of the drone is 5.5 meters; the width is 1.5 meters. The device is capable of developing a speed of up to 42 knots (approximately 77 kilometers per hour), while the payload is 320 kg.
Ukraine also presented its own missile systems at the defense exhibition. The International Defense Industry Fair takes place in Istanbul from July 25 to 28.
