The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) and the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS) urges US citizens to get in contact with the White House and President Biden requesting restrictions on Ukraine’s use of Western weapons be lifted, which will allow for strikes within Russian territory.
“The genocidal war of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine continues with yesterday’s (August 26 – ed.) and today’s (August 27 – ed.) onslaught of missiles and drones. Once again, innocent Ukrainian civilians are being slaughtered by Russian terrorism,” the message reads.
The UCCA emphasizes that it is important for US citizens, particularly members of the diaspora, to express their opinion on this matter. “[We] urge you to contact the White House and request President Biden to allow Ukraine to strike deeply within Russia to eliminate the aggressor’s capacity to carry out such terrorist attacks,” the text continues.
A detailed guide on how to contact the White House, a sample letter, and materials for sharing on social media can be found at this link.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell stated that the use of Western weapons for Ukraine shouldn’t be restricted.
