UCCA to hold advocacy event with Congressional members to support Ukraine

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) will host a Ukrainian Days endeavor in Washington on Feb. 24-25 to meet members of Congress, especially with lawmakers who were elected on Nov. 5.

The primary goal of the event is to continue advancing key issues for Ukraine as Russia’s war soon enters its fourth year.

They are to expand sanctions against Russia, designating Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, raising awareness of Russia’s war crimes, particularly the abduction of Ukrainian children, and expressing gratitude to elected officials for their ongoing support of Ukraine.

Preceding the event, an online session will brief participants and outline the key aspects and objectives of the initiative. Organizers will also provide essential informational materials.

Ukrainian Days is a long-standing event for the Ukrainian community in the U.S. The last event took place in May, where Ukrainian Americans urged lawmakers to increase support for Ukraine.

This initiative presents a valuable opportunity for participants to meet with their elected Congressional  representatives in their local districts and states, as emphasized by the UCCA.

Help us advance our community’s concerns and meet your elected officials!” the UCCA said.

The event will also mark the third anniversary of Russia’s brutal and unprovoked genocidal war against Ukraine.
