UCCA and UNIS announce ‘Ukrainian Days’ advocacy event in US capital

The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) and the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS) have announced that the next Ukrainian Days advocacy event will take place on June 11–12 in Washington, D.C.

Ukrainian Days is a longstanding initiative held several times a year that is held by UCCA to provide members of the Ukrainian community with a structured opportunity to advocate for issues important to Ukraine on Capitol Hill.

The event will bring together community advocates, leaders, and constituents to meet directly with members of Congress and their staff.

As in previous years, the two-day event will begin with an informational session to help participants prepare for meetings with lawmakers. Advocacy materials and talking points will be distributed in advance to ensure that attendees are well equipped to communicate messages.

Help us advance our community’s concerns and meet your elected officials!” UCCA said in its call to action.

This June’s Ukrainian Days will focus on a range of urgent policy issues, including U.S. policy support for Ukraine, enhanced sanctions against Russia, the designation of Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, and increased awareness of Russian war crimes.

Participants will also highlight the need for a just resolution to Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
