The President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) Paul Grod, congratulated the Ukrainian community of Argentina on the historical milestone of the 100th anniversary of the Ukrainian Society “Prosvita”, during a ceremony at the Golden Hall of Buenos Aires Council.
In his keynote speech the UWC President stressed the importance of the close cooperation between the “Prosvita” Society and Argentinian authorities, in order to facilitate the free development of Ukrainian public life, and he sincerely expressed gratitude for this support.
“We know that Ukraine’s independence has always united Ukrainians in Argentina. With the onset of Russia’s full-scale aggression, your Society has further mobilized to defend and support the affected Ukrainian people. The substantial humanitarian assistance you initiated since the first days of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and your advocacy for Ukrainian interests deserve special thanks today,” Grod told the audience.
The UWC President underlined the fact that Ukraine needs the consolidated assistance of the whole world at this time, more than ever. To achieve a sustainable peace South America’s and Argentina’s voice and leadership are crucial, as Argentina has already stated at the Peace Summit in Switzerland. “I would like to sincerely thank President of Argentina Javier Milei and all supporters of Ukraine,” Grod concluded.
On behalf of the multi-million Ukrainian diaspora, Paul Grod presented a honorary diploma to the “Prosvita” Society in Argentina and awarded a distinction to the President of the Society, Jorge Danylyshyn.
