The man who was inside the car run over by Russian armored vehicle collects evidence for the Hague

You just can’t help feeling shocked when you watch this 16-second footage. On the second day of the full-scale war, a heavy Russian armored vehicle racing down a street in Kyiv maneuvers to run over an oncoming car – just for fun! – crushes it, stays a few moments atop of it as if savoring these moments, and then backs onto the road to continue with whatever crimes else Putin ordered his orcs to commit.

The driver, Leonid, 63 at the time, survived, which is a miracle. Passers-by rushed to the crumpled-up car to pull out the driver and called an ambulance. In the hospital, where he was delivered with his left hand and leg broken and a collection of other injuries, the medics fought for his life and said they had to “reassemble him anew.”

Leonid spent two weeks in an intensive care unit under oxygen mask and was discharged from the hospital in 20 days with a strict prohibition to stand on his feet for two months. Being bed-ridden, however, does not mean being idle. At least, not for Leonid, who has reached the Beatles-glorified age of 64 and is busy with his lawyer collecting evidence – videos, photos, and testimonies of eyewitnesses on what happened. They intend to submit this evidence to the Hague Tribunal. Leonid is convinced that Ukraine will win and every Russian invader will be punished.
