The Russian barbaric rocket attack on the shopping mall in Kemenchuk has taken the lives of more than 20 people and wounded at least 59 persons (including 25 hospitalized), while 40 are reported as missing, according to information from the Office of the President of Ukraine as of noon today. The death toll will most probably rise as the search for survivors was completed only in 80% of the rubble as of 6:00 p.m.
On Monday, Russia struck Kremenchuk with two missiles, one hitting the Amstor mall with up to 1,000 customers and personnel inside, and the other destroying a road machines plant’s workshop and a greenhouse some 400 meters from the mall. The Kremenchuk Refinery, which was a target of earlier Russian strikes, is in another part of the city far from Amstor.
President Zelensky called the strike at the shopping mall “one of the most defiant terrorist attacks in European history.” “And this is not an off-target missile strike, this is a calculated Russian strike – exactly at this shopping mall,” he also emphasized.
Absolutely horrific tragedy in #Kremenchuk today. #Russia is the world's serial murderer with hands dripping with blood. Demand your governments send weapons to UA now and shut down 🇷🇺 economy with harsh sanctions. #PutinIsaWarCriminal and must be stopped asap! #UkraineRussianWar pic.twitter.com/SCcOHKMk2W
