According to Gwaramedia, the “American streaming service Netflix will buy 14 Ukrainian films, reports Forbes referring to two sources from Film.ua Group, the largest vertically integrated group of companies in the field of film and television production in Eastern Europe.”
For the first time ever, Netflix has acquired the distribution rights to more than ten Ukrainian movies. Forbes reports that 14 movies will be available on the platform. They include the comedies “Big Picnic,” “The Best Weekend” and “Crazy Wedding,” which marked the first export of a Ukrainian-made original film format. In December, a movie titled “Sniper: The White Raven” on the invasion of Donbas will be published. The purchase of the fantasy family adventure film “Foxter and Max” is still subject to negotiations.
