Strengthening the network of friends of Ukraine: UWC leadership met with MEP Viola von Cramon-Taubadel

On July 7 UWC leadership met with MEP Viola von Cramon-Taubadel, Vice-Chair of the Delegation to the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Association Committee. Countering Russia’s aggression, disinformation and an outlook on the pace of reforms in Ukraine were the top issues on the agenda. 

UWC President Paul Grod was joined in this virtual meeting by former Ambassador of Canada to Ukraine Roman Waschuk, UWC First Vice President Stefan Romaniw and representatives of the UWC office in Brussels. 

The discussion focused on the current political and security issues, in particular, the parties expressed shared their perspective on the pace of reforms in Ukraine and shared their concerns about Ukraine’s economic stability especially following the controversial dismissal of the Governor of the National Bank.  

UWC President Paul Grod highlighted potential new areas for collaboration between the UWC and MEPs to strengthen the network of friends of Ukraine and promote Ukraine’s reform agenda.
