Today marks seven years since the start of Russia’s war against Ukraine. On 13 April 2014, Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council officially declared the beginning of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in Donbas.
The war in Donbas has already resulted in over 13,000 deaths and over 30,000 wounded. Over one and a half million Ukrainians have fled their homes, while tens of thousands remain hostages in Donbas’ Russian-occupied territories.
The Kremlin continues to deny its crimes in Donbas and Crimea, using #Putin’sBigLie to cover up for the war.
Currently, Russia is building up an unprecedented military presence on Ukraine’s borders and threatens to destroy Ukraine and peace in Europe.
The bloodthirsty Kremlin propaganda machine continues to concoct new lies to fuel its aggression.
Today we pay tribute and mourn the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for Ukraine in the seven years of the war in Donbas. The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) calls on the global community to bring to an end to # Putin’sBigLie and stand united with Ukraine as it defends its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
