Porlezza, Italy – On Sunday, July 3, the President of the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), Paul Grod, met with representatives of the Ukrainian community in Italy and leaders of the Ukrainian organization Social Promotion Association “Ukraine Plus – Milan” (Ucraina Più – Milano) and took part in an event dedicated to Ukrainian culture and art in Italy.
The meeting, attended by Association executives and active members, focused on the organization’s main activities, including ongoing projects, such as presentations of book, demonstration of Ukrainian films, master classes in a library, and round tables on Ukrainian history and language, as well as participation in and cooperation with other Ukrainian and Italian organizations.
During the cultural event, the Kosiv Institute of Applied Decorative Arts carried out a show of Ukrainian ethnic costumes.
The Social Promotion Association “Ukraine Plus – Milan” was established in May 2019 based on the organization “Ukraine Plus.” The association engages in projects aimed at forming communicative culture between the Ukrainian and Italian peoples, unites admirers of Ukrainian culture, supports the “Folk Dance Milan” team, and maintains the “Ukraine Plus – Milan” library it has established – the only Ukrainian library in Milan. The association also supports refugees from Ukraine and collects humanitarian aid.
