As part of counter-sabotage measures, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has searched offices of the Communist Party of Ukraine and the Rus United party, both banned, and homes of some of their members in Kyiv, Dnipro and Kryvy Rih, SBU reported Wednesday on its website.
The search revealed stocks of pro-Kremlin literature and agitational leaflets with symbols of the Soviet totalitarian regime, Russian propaganda guides, Saint George’s ribbons (prohibited in Ukraine as a symbol of Russian aggression), Russian flags and even some arms.
According to SBU operative intelligence, Communist functionaries had planned to use this propaganda arsenal to hold agitational rallies in support of the enemy should the Russians capture Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
