Russians trying to advance on all fronts, says Ukraine’s new army chief Syrskyi

The current situation at the frontline is complex, as Russians are advancing “practically along the entire front,” revealed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, in an interview with German media ZDF. He said that Ukraine has transitioned from offensive operations to a defensive stance.

“We have shifted from offensive actions to conducting defensive operations. Our operational goal is to exhaust the enemy, inflict maximum losses using our fortifications, our technical advantages, unmanned aviation, electronic warfare, and maintaining prepared defense lines,” said Syrskyi.

Batllers are particularly intense on the Kupiansk front. There, the Russians are determined to capture Kupiansk at any cost, launching daily assaults on Ukrainian positions, the General Colonel said.

“The enemy initiated this offensive on October 3, 2023, and has been conducting a high-intensity advance for the past four months. Their losses, especially in fatalities, currently exceed ours by 7-8 times,” stated Syrskyi.
