Russian propaganda closely resembles Nazi propaganda, stated Ukraine’s Chief Rabbi Moshe Reuven Azman in an interview with the Telegraph.
“If you examine the narratives of Nazi propaganda, I believe they have simply been copied from Nazi Germany,” he said. “They claim to be ‘getting off their knees’ and insist that they are being offended by everyone.”
Moshe Azman said Russians determine who is a fascist and who is not, having taken this right for themselves by declaring themselves victors of World War II.
While the Americans, the British, and many other nations – including Ukrainians, Jews, and Tatars – were also victors, “Russian propaganda has somehow concluded that only Russians can be considered victors, allowing them to declare who is a fascist and who is not,” he said.
This creates a very dangerous precedent, as Azman argues that Russians harbor a hatred for Ukrainians akin to the Nazi hatred for Jews.
The German Nazis persecuted Jews beyond comprehension, and they hated them simply for being Jews, without any logical basis, Moshe Azman says.
“Similarly, some Russians – though not all – who are influenced by propaganda also harbor a deep hatred for Ukrainians. In the past, Jews were blamed for everything; now, it is Ukrainians,” he stated.
