Russia poses a threat not only to Ukraine, but also to Israel, the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine, Moshe Reuven Azman, said. The Kremlin actively cooperates with Iran, which wants to destroy the Jewish state.
“Russia is blackmailing Israel with Hezbollah, Iran, and Syria. … Today, Iran, which wants to destroy the Jewish state, is a great ally and best friend of Russia, supplies drones there, which it can then target at Israel. And Russia, in return, helps him with nuclear technologies, engineers, etc. That is, it is a threat not only to Ukraine but also to Israel,” Rabbi Azman explained.
Israel is beginning to realize this, “there has been a certain turn in consciousness,” the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine is convinced.
“I tried to explain as much as possible to Israeli leaders, politicians, and statesmen that aid to Ukraine should be increased,” Azman added.
At the same time, support for Kyiv is growing among the people of the Jewish state. According to the Chief Rabbi, 75% of Russian-speaking residents of Israel support Ukraine. “And this 75% includes not only people from Ukraine, but also from Russia, Belarus and other post-Soviet republics,” Azman says.
The Ukrainian Jewish community also actively helps Ukraine. Moshe Reuven Azman is devoting much time to the Kherson Oblast, which suffered from the Russians’ destruction of the Kakhovka HPP. In addition, the Chief Rabbi of Ukraine announced the promotion of a law prohibiting Russians involved in war crimes from obtaining Israeli citizenship.
