The Russian Federation may lose its fleet if it continues to attack Ukrainian ports, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said.
The occupiers blocked the Black Sea, in particular the territorial waters of Ukraine. This stops the movement of sea transport and ships with grain, Zelenskyy explains. At the same time, Ukraine has the right to import and export products in its territorial waters.
“If there is a blockade, then Ukraine must find another way to end the blockade of our waters. If the Russian Federation continues to dominate the Black Sea and block it by firing missiles, then Ukraine will do the same, which is a fair defense of our capabilities,” the President of Ukraine said.
Russia must answer for attacks on the civilian population and “grain corridors.” Currently, the Kremlin is trying to put Ukraine in a hopeless situation, using weapons and violence because it cannot win, Zelenskyy says.
“If they [the Russians] keep firing, we don’t have many weapons, but if they keep firing, they may be out of ships by the end of the war. … We want to show that it is not the Russians who should influence everyone,” the president added.
Russia is systematically shelling Ukraine’s port and agricultural infrastructure after withdrawing from the “grain deal”. At the same time, the Russian fleet is increasingly under attack. In particular, the Olenegorsky Gornyak large landing ship of the Russian Federation was significantly damaged on the night of August 4 near Novorossiysk.
