Russia finalizes terrorist attack plan on ZNPP – Budanov

Russia has developed and completed a plan to detonate the Zaporizhzhia NPP. “The situation has never been as serious as it is now,” Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, said.

The occupiers placed explosives-filled equipment near 4 of the 6 power units of the station. Previously, the Russians also mined the cooling pond. Nuclear reactors without cooling can melt down in 10 hours to 14 days, the head of Ukrainian intelligence explained.

In addition, invaders’ increase in the voltage on the power supply lines to the ZNPP could also lead to an accident, Budanov added.

Russia’s order to carry out a terrorist attack on the ZNPP may be provoked by the defeat of the occupying forces on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Russia views the creation of a nuclear disaster zone as a safeguard against the further advancement of Ukraine’s Security and Defense Forces.

At the same time, according to Budanov’s assessment, Russia can attack the nuclear power plant, causing a radiation leak, as a “preventive measure” to stop Ukraine’s offensive operation and freeze the actual front line.

On June 22, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russia is considering a scenario of a terrorist attack at the Zaporizhzhia NPP with radiation leakage. The President of Ukraine emphasized that “the world can and must act.”

The Ukrainian World Congress also calls on the international community to resolutely condemn and impose crippling sanctions on Russia for its nuclear terrorism.
