Romania’s Foreign Minister urges NATO for “ambitious actions” on Ukraine’s accession

Romanian Foreign Minister Luminița Odobescu emphasized the critical importance of supporting Ukraine on its Euro-Atlantic path, stating that the opportunity for “ambitious actions” in this direction will be present at the NATO summit in the United States in July.

We remain firmly committed to providing support for Ukraine as long as needed,” said the minister during an extraordinary meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council on April 4th.

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Alliance’s creation, the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) called on NATO leaders to provide a meaningful commitment to defeat Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine and the democratic world.

The UWC and Ukrainian communities across NATO member states have for many years advocated for Ukraine’s accession into the Alliance. Today Ukrainians and citizens of NATO countries are overwhelmingly in favor of Ukraine’s NATO membership. Only with Ukraine in NATO can the world put down Russian imperialism which today is the biggest threat to global peace and security!” stated UWC President Paul Grod.
