Russia is willing to supply gas to Europe via the surviving line of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline in case the EU adopts relevant decisions, NB Business reports with reference to the Russian publication Kommesant.
As the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Oleksandr Novak stated, “as for the second thread [Nord Stream-2], it is ready, built, and in the event that the necessary legal decisions are made by European colleagues regarding its certification and lifting of restrictions, I think that Russia could, in a short period of time, provide adequate supplies through this gas pipeline”.
On the night of Sep. 26, a gas leak occurred on both lines of Nord Stream 1 and one of the two lines of the Nord Stream 2 in the Danish exclusive economic zone. Sweden and Denmark are investigating the incidents. Representatives of Russia were not allowed in the investigation.
