Prosvita showcases Ukrainian culture at one of Argentina’s largest festivals

The Prosvita Ukrainian Cultural Society participated in one of Argentina’s largest cultural festivals, Oktoberfest Argentina, said Jorge Danylyshyn, UWC Vice President for South America and Prosvita’s president.

Held in Córdoba, the seven-day festival drew over 25,000 visitors eager to explore the richness of Ukrainian culture.

The highlight of the event was a stunning performance by the Prosvita Ukrainian folk dance ensemble, which captivated the audience with its vibrant dance number. The blue-and-yellow national flag proudly waved on the main stage, symbolizing the spirit of Ukraine throughout the festival.

“We carry the call for a free, sovereign, independent, and territorially integral Ukraine! Thank you to the organizers and local authorities for allowing us to express the Ukrainian truth!” Danylyshyn said.

Oktoberfest Argentina is one of the largest festivals in Latin America, taking place annually in Villa General Belgrano. This year, it was held from Oct. 11 to 14, with a prominent Ukrainian presence.

Notably, in August, Prosvita celebrated its 100th anniversary in Argentina. A delegation from the UWC, led by President Paul Grod, attended the three-day festivities, which began in the Golden Hall of the Buenos Aires City Council.
