Pro-Russian vandals damage Crimean Tatar business in Toronto

Unknown pro-Russian individuals vandalized Crimean Tatar businesses in Toronto. A printing shop was splattered with black paint cans, reported by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Toronto Branch.

This is the type of racist abuse and vandalism that Ukrainians face daily. This shop is run by Ukrainian Crimean Tatars who came to Canada after the annexation of Crimea. Their shop was vandalized in Etobicoke. Please send some support to the Print Plus Sign!” the UCC wrote.

The business owners also responded to the incident. “Just random vandalism? Teenagers? Graffiti lovers? We don’t think so. A targeted action by Putin’s defenders, lovers of the “Russian world”. Our office was deliberately vandalized tonight. Reporting it to the police,” the post wrote.

A similar pro-Russian incident has occurred at the store before. Last year in June, the business received messages in support of the occupiers.

Print Plus Sign, owned by Crimean Tatars from Ukraine, was established in Canada in 2014. They print advertisements for businesses, banners, signs, posters, and more. They also openly support Ukraine by creating materials for pro-Ukrainian events.
