Putin is already prepared for a small military operation against a NATO country, said the head of Poland’s military counterintelligence service, Jarosław Stróżyk, in an interview with Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.
“Putin is, of course, already prepared for some mini-operation against one of the Baltic countries, for example, to enter the famous Narva (a municipality in Estonia – ed.) or to land on one of the Swedish islands,” Stróżyk said.
At the same time, the head of Poland’s military counterintelligence service believes that all forecasts regarding Russia’s readiness for a possible attack on NATO from analytical centers that do not have full information are based only on certain assumptions.
Currently, Putin’s actions are only restrained by the West’s firm pro-Ukrainian position. “What the West does together to support Ukraine shows him that in the event of an attack on NATO, the West’s reaction would be even greater,” Strozyk said.
Previously, the British daily newspaper Daily Mail published a likely scenario of a Russian attack on NATO countries. The publication collected expert opinions from former US Army commander Ben Hodges and several military experts.
Belgian army chief Michel Hofman stated that after Ukraine, Putin could attack the Baltic countries and Moldova.
