North Korea has recognized Russian sham referendums about annexation of occupied Ukrainian territories and has accepted such annexations as legal.
According to Pyongyang, “pseudo-referendums in the occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblast are legal and held ‘in accordance with the UN Charter.’ The North Korean Foreign Ministry claims that the vote conducted by Russia ‘fully reflects the will of local residents, and the majority of voters supported joining Russia.’ North Korea also accused the US of trying to ‘support a hegemonic unipolar world’ and using the UN Security Council for this purpose,” Ukrainska Pravda reported.
The civilized Western world does not support the sham referendums and the following illegal annexation of occupied Ukrainian territories in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia Oblast. “Fictitious referendums held by Russia on the Ukrainian territories occupied by it have no legitimacy and are a gross violation of international law,” said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
