Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) calls upon NATO and its member states to act immediately to protect Ukraine’s sky and save the lives of peaceful residents of Ukraine who continue to suffer Russia’s cynical full-scale invasion.
During the night of March 4, Russian Armed Forces committed a terrorist act – bombing the largest nuclear station in Europe, the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia. This is further escalation of Russia’s brutal air assault upon Ukraine and the indiscriminate shelling and bombing of Ukrainian cities. Thousands of civilians have been killed; millions forced to flee their homes.
“Today, the brave Ukrainian defenders, risking their lives, are protecting the world from the greatest nuclear disaster in history. If the shelling continues, an explosion at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear station will be 10 times more powerful than the nuclear disaster in Chornobyl. We call upon the world and all Ukraine’s allies to close off Ukraine’s sky to save the lives of the civilian population and safeguard the security of the entire European continent,” urged UWC President Paul Grod.
