Most Ukrainians oppose trading NATO membership for “peace” with Russia, poll finds

More than half of Ukrainians consider it unacceptable or undesirable to give up NATO membership in exchange for “peace” during negotiations with Russia. This is evidenced by the research data of the New Europe Center, which is at the disposal of European Pravda.

In total, 67% of Ukrainian citizens consider it categorically unacceptable (57%) or extremely undesirable (10%) the possibility of refusing to join the North Atlantic Alliance or declaring Ukraine’s neutrality in exchange for “peace” with Russia. Only 12% of respondents called this option acceptable.

71% of Ukrainians are against Russia’s concessions regarding membership in the European Union. Only 11% of respondents called such a step acceptable.

More than 76% of Ukrainians are categorically against the idea of not vacating the territories temporarily occupied by Russia. 8% consider such an offer undesirable.

Ukrainians were also interviewed about the possibility of granting the Russian language state status. 73% of citizens spoke against it. Another 67% of respondents categorically refused the idea of reducing the amount of reparations from Russia, and 77% denied the refusal to prosecute Russian criminals.
