The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) urgently calls on the Government of Mongolia to arrest Vladimir Putin, who is currently visiting Mongolia. Mr. Putin is under an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for his involvement in war crimes, including mass killings and acts of genocide.
Mongolia, as a state party to the Rome Statute of the ICC since 2002, has a legal obligation to fulfill its responsibilities and immediately arrest Vladimir Putin. Allowing Mr. Putin to visit Mongolia not only undermines the principles of justice and international law but also places Mongolia on the wrong side of history. Vladimir Putin’s actions have caused immense suffering and loss of life, drawing parallels to the atrocities committed by historical figures such as Adolf Hitler. It is imperative that the international community stands united in condemning such actions and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.
“By arresting Vladimir Putin, Mongolia will bring an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine and bring peace and stability to the region,” stated UWC President Paul Grod. “One simple decision to arrest Putin by the government of Mongolia will deliver a profoundly positive result for humanity.”
The Ukrainian World Congress believes in the power of collective action and the importance of standing up against tyranny and oppression. We hope that Mongolia will join us in this crucial endeavor to bring Vladimir Putin to justice and to send a strong message that war crimes and genocide will not be tolerated. Anything less will make the people of Mongolia complicit in genocide against the Ukrainian people.
