On March 19, this Sunday, the global Ukrainian community is preparing to celebrate the birthday of Lina Kostenko, a brilliant Ukrainian writer, one of the most famous Ukrainians of our time, who is called the “voice of the people”, “the honor and conscience of our era”.
The prominent sixties writer, who turns 93, has been highly supportive of Ukrainians since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Her work inspires us to continue the struggle. Meanwhile, in an interview with Ukrainian media, Lina Kostenko said she is not hiding from enemy shells and is working on new books.
On this occasion, Oksana Levytska, Chair of the UWC International Educational Coordinating Council, prepared materials dedicated to Lina Kostenko that will be useful for conducting lessons in Ukrainian weekend schools. Materials are available at this link.
