The annual general meeting of the largest Ukrainian organization in Denmark, Lastivka, took place. Representatives from all local branches participated in the gathering.

“The meeting delegates discussed the results and achievements of their collaborative efforts over the past year, held elections for the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and the Board, acknowledged and expressed gratitude to active branches of the association, and identified and approved goals and priorities for the upcoming year in 2024,” reported Vasyl Gedz, former head of the branch of the Lastivka Ukrainian organization in Denmark.

Lesya Rykhalska has been elected as the organization’s new Chair, with Maria Padovska chosen as her Deputy. “I wish success and creativity to the new board team,” wrote Gedz.

Andrii Yanevskyi, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Denmark, and Bohdan Kost, the First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Denmark, also attended the general meeting.

Lastivka is the largest Ukrainian organization in Denmark, with over 1000 registered members shaping Ukrainian history in Denmark from 2012 to the present,” said Gedz.

The organization comprises 11 local branches, has established and coordinates Ukrainian schools, develops its own football and volleyball clubs in Denmark, collaborates with the Plast scout organization, and is a component of the Ukrainian World Congress.

Lastivka actively operates in the educational, cultural, informational, and humanitarian spheres, particularly in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine in Denmark to promote Ukrainian achievements in culture and arts.
