Kherson Oblast: Ukraine advances, Russia flees

Yesterday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued to rapidly advance in the right-bank part of the Kherson region. “The Russian occupiers are fleeing in panic from the counteroffensive of the Ukrainian soldiers… Some of them manage to cross to the left bank of the Dnipro,” UNIAN writes.

“Ukrainian forces steadily advanced in Kherson Oblast on November 10 as Russian forces conduct a withdrawal to the east (left) bank of the Dnipro River. Ukrainian military officials and geolocated social media footage confirm that Ukrainian troops have made gains northwest, west, and northeast of Kherson City in the past 24 hours and advanced up to 7km in some areas,” states the Institute for the Study of War.

“Ukraine holds the initiative and is in the process of securing a major victory in Kherson,” ISW also notes and adds that this great victory “will not be Ukraine’s last.”

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky began his address yesterday evening with “good news from the south”:

“The number of Ukrainian flags returning to their rightful place within the framework of the ongoing defense operation is already dozens. Forty-one settlements were liberated. In fact, our soldiers are immediately followed to the liberated areas by those who restore all the conditions for a normal life.”

However, the Operational Command “South” emphasizes that Russian troops still remain on the right bank of the Dnipro – they have only partially withdrawn their equipment and are setting up defense lines on the left bank.

“We can state that they are partially withdrawing their weapons and equipment, they are actually setting up defense lines on the left bank. But they are still there on the right bank: units, defense lines, and the availability of weapons and equipment,” Ukrainska Pravda quotes Natalia Humenyuk, head of the joint press center of OC “South”.

According to Humenyuk, “The Defense Forces are aware of the insidiousness of the Russians and are ready for any development of events, in particular the mining of the area, which the Russians resorted to.”
