Italy is preparing a military aid package for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The new support was announced by the Minister of Defense of Italy, Guido Crosetto, European Pravda reports. The supply of weapons was discussed at the Italian parliamentary committee on control over special services. The content of the aid is classified.
Further Italian support for Ukraine is also planned to be discussed by the President of the Ukrainian World Congress, Paul Grod. UWC’s head will meet with parliamentarians in Rome on Monday, May 6, at 10:00. Paul Grod’s press conference in the parliament is also scheduled.
At the same time, the Italian media Il Messaggero reports that Rome plans to send air defense systems to Kyiv. In particular, the SAMP/T anti-aircraft missile system The agreement on the transfer of air defense was adopted last week during a meeting in the Ramstein format, journalists claim.
This is the seventh package of military aid from Italy to Ukraine. Earlier, together with France, the country had already supplied SAMP/T systems to the Armed Forces. In addition, in March of this year, Rome conducted training on using anti-aircraft missile systems for 20 Ukrainian military personnel.
