Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanyshyna announced on a news telethon that agreement has been reached with Ireland’s Prime Minister Micheal Martin.
This was discussed at the meetings of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna with the Speaker of the Lower House of the Irish Parliament Sean O’Farrell, the Speaker of the Upper House (Senate) Mark Daly and the Speaker of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group Brendan Smith. The participants of the meeting discussed joint efforts to mobilize support among EU member states to grant Ukraine candidate status.
According to Ms Stefanyshyna, there is also an agreement on daily communication before and after the June EU summit. Ukraine is waiting for the publication of the European Commission’s conclusion on Ukraine’s application due by June 18.
