Schools in occupied Mariupol have been turned into branches of a Gulag – children are forbidden to talk about the war or share memories of their experiences, according to reports on Telegram by Advisor to Mariupol Mayor Petro Andriushchenko, informs Censor.
The occupants are pressuring educators who refuse to work according to the russian curriculum.
Yurii Sobolevskyi, First Deputy Head of the Kherson Oblast Council, wrote on Telegram: “The occupiers are pressuring educators who refuse to work according to the Russian curriculum. They are doing this in order to force them to work and make up for staff shortages.”
ccording to Ukrainska Pravda, “Sobolevskyi also added that relatives of those school principals and other school leaders who have left [the Russian-occupied territories of Kherson Oblast] and are now teaching online from the Ukrainian-controlled territories have reported receiving threats.”
