Germany has signed additional contracts for supplying Iris-T air defense systems for the Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Oleksii Makeiev said.
“Additional contracts for the supply of IRIS-Ts were signed in the city of Überlingen on Lake Constance. And these Iris-T SLM/SLS units/launchers/missiles will soon be in Ukraine!” Makeiev announced and added a photo of the anti-aircraft missile system.

Meanwhile, Ukraine appealed to Berlin with an official request to provide TAURUS cruise missiles. These weapons will make it possible to strike Russian military infrastructure at long distances. The German Ministry of Defense confirmed receipt of the appeal, Spiegel reports. The number of missiles in question was not specified.
On May 20, during the Group of Seven summit in the Japanese city of Hiroshima, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for military assistance.
