France will provide Ukraine with more military support to help the counteroffensive. President of the country Emmanuel Macron announced new cargoes for the Armed Forces.
“We have intensified the delivery of ammunitions, weapons and armed vehicles … We’ll continue [providing aid] in coming days and weeks,” France’s president said.
Macron added that Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the start of the counteroffensive during the telephone conversation between the presidents – most likely, during the presidents’ communication on June 7. Then, the leaders of Ukraine and France agreed on the continuation of defense cooperation, particularly the training of Ukrainian pilots to master Western combat aircraft.
The day before, the French president also said that Ukraine’s counteroffensive had been going on for several days. Macron added that offensive actions of the Armed Forces might lead to conditions that will allow Kyiv to start negotiations most profitably.
