A few days before the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Armed Forces Minister of France in an interview with Le Parisien affirmed that the AMX-10 light tanks promised by France to Ukraine would be “delivered at the end of the week next,” according to Le Figaro.
“The training [of Ukrainian crews] is about to end, these armored vehicles will be delivered by the end of next week,” said Sébastien Lecornu, who nevertheless refused to comment on the number of tanks delivered “so as not to give any information strategic to Russia.”
The minister also reaffirmed France’s position not to deliver the Leclerc main battle tanks requested by Kyiv for the time being since, unlike Germany’s Leopard tanks, these could not be delivered en masse because of “limited export success.”
