Foreign Ministry will launch a new system to speed up consular services

Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs Ministry is going to launch an updated system for providing consular services to Ukrainians abroad, the ministry reported. Work is currently being carried out along with the Digital Transformation Ministry, with the intended outcome of integrating document retrieval from the Diia app into a new tool.

“The launch of the updated system at the initial stage will reduce the operational time for providing consular services by 30-80% (depending on the type of service). Some services will be available online or partially online. The Ministry’s systems will be more deeply integrated with registries and databases to ensure quality data exchange. We will also include a feedback option for users,” the ministry announced.

A start date for the updated system isn’t currently known, but more detail will emerge later. “We expect that the implementation of this project will significantly improve the accessibility and quality of the Ministry’s services for citizens abroad. Consular services will be highly automated, which will noticeably reduce the workload on consular staff and enhance their effectiveness,” said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi.
