The European Congress of Ukrainians (ECU), in cooperation with the Serbian-based Prosvita Society of language, literature, and culture will host the European Forum of the Ukrainian Diaspora Novyi Sad 2024 (EFUD).
The event is set for Dec. 14 and will be held in person in Prague and broadcast online via this link. The forum will begin at 11:00 Central European Time (UTC+1).
UWC President Paul Grod will join the event as a panel expert in the discussion titled, “New Challenges of the ECU: Network Building, Integration Processes, and Strengthening Communities.”
Other speakers include Bohdan Rajčinec, ECU President and head of the Ukrainian Initiative in Czechia, and Pavlo Sadokha, UWC Vice-President and President of the Union of Ukrainians in Portugal. Many other leaders of Ukrainian organizations and communities will also participate.
“EFUD is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the ECU, focusing on the development of Ukrainian communities in Europe and addressing the challenges that concern our European diaspora,” stated the ECU
Discussion topics will cover a range of issues, including cultural identity as a tool for self-preservation in a multicultural environment, and the impact of education, language, family, and church in resisting the rapid assimilation of Ukrainians abroad.
