Russian ballistic missile hits Kryvyi Rih, residential building damaged
On November 11, Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine was attacked by Russian occupiers using ballistic missiles, resulting in a five-story building being damaged. The city authorities have reported injuries, and emergency rescuers are currently working on the scene. According to the Head of Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, the building was hit by “high-precision” missiles, and an emergency rescue operation is underway. The details reveal that apartments from the first to the fifth floors of one entrance in the building were destroyed, and a fire also broke out.
The State Emergency Service and the Prosecutor’s Office of the Dnipropetrovsk region have reported a total of eight injured people, including two children. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated regarding violating laws and customs of war. Rescuers suspect that there may be more people trapped under the rubble.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has commented on Russia’s attack on his hometown, emphasizing the need for Ukraine to have weapons to defend itself against Russian aggression. He also called for more global support to make diplomacy with Russia effective. President Zelenskyy stated that Russia’s continuous acts of terror and targeting of civilian objects discredit any claims of diplomacy on their part. He believes that without decisive action and strong support for Ukraine, Russia will not be motivated to seek peace and will instead continue to choose new targets.
