The Central Union of Ukrainians in Germany (Zentralverband der Ukrainer in Deutschland, ZVUD) celebrated its 18th anniversary, the group’s president, Lyudmyla Mlosh noted.
“These years have been filled with collective efforts, new projects, accomplishments, and, most importantly, mutual support. This is our shared history, one we can be proud of as we present Ukraine to the world,” ZVUD said.
For nearly two decades, the organization has supported the Ukrainian community in Germany and provided aid to Ukraine. ZVUD has organized educational and cultural events and supported crucial social initiatives.
Among its many efforts, the union has implemented projects to assist the victims of the Chornobyl disaster, provide healthcare for children, and advocate for the recognition of the 1932-33 Holodomor as a genocide against the Ukrainian people.
During the Revolution of Dignity, the organization actively supported Ukraine, and in the face of Russia’s full-scale invasion, it has been organizing aid for both the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilians.
The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) sincerely congratulates ZVUD on its anniversary and expresses gratitude for its long-standing and fruitful work in supporting the Ukrainian community in Germany and strengthening ties between Ukraine and Ukrainians abroad.
“Today, more than ever, Ukraine is facing a grave threat. The immense work you are doing to support Ukraine, its Armed Forces, the victims, and refugees is of utmost importance. Your efforts to communicate messages to the German government and local communities to support Ukraine are equally vital,” wrote UWC President Paul Grod in his letter to Mlosh.
The activities of ZVUD are an integral part of the global Ukrainian community’s mission to bring victory to Ukraine and contribute to its reconstruction.
“We continue to place our trust in you. Only together can we help the Ukrainian people defend Ukraine, the borders of the free world, and shape its future. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!” Grod said.
