According to Canadian Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, Canada may soon approve legislation to seize frozen Russian assets under sanction, as reported by Reuters.
“As for sanctions against Russia, I hope that in the coming days my budget bill will be adopted. For the first time in Canadian history, it contains rules that allow for the confiscation and freezing of sanctioned assets. I can’t name a more appropriate source for financing the reconstruction of Ukraine than confiscated Russian assets,” Ms Freeland said.
