Brazil’s Federal University launches training program for Ukrainian language teachers and translators

In Brazil, the Federal University of Unicentro in Paraná state has introduced an online learning course for studying Ukrainian and Portuguese languages, announced Vitório Sorotiuk, President of the Ukrainian-Brazilian Central Representation (UBCR).

The project aims to train teachers and translators of the Ukrainian language in Brazil. Both Brazilian and Ukrainian experts collaborated in developing the course curriculum. Details about the initiative and the topics covered in the training have not been disclosed.

Earlier, Vitório Sorotiuk stated that many people in Brazil do not know the true history of Russia and Ukraine. There are practically no information resources, such as books, about the Ukrainian past. The Ukrainian community is currently working on the distribution of Ukrainian books.

At the Ukrainian Memorial in Curitiba, an exhibition featuring Clarice Lispector, a Brazilian writer of Ukrainian-Jewish descent, opened on July 5 and runs until the end of the year, with admission available from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
