Bipartisan Congressional Ukraine Caucus calls to approve US support for Ukraine

Ahead of the second anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Bipartisan Congressional Ukraine Caucus held a press conference in Washington, DC, as reported by the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS).

The caucus members urged American lawmakers to support the aid package for Ukraine and reassure US allies of their support for Kyiv. US Representatives Marcy Kaptur, Brendan Boyle, Mike Quigley, Joe Wilson, Rosa DeLauro, Bill Pascrell, Jr., Dan Goldman, Steve Cohen and Jake Auchincloss took part in the presser.

It is unacceptable that the Speaker [of the United States House of Representatives, Mike Johnson] is recessing Congress without a vote on supporting Ukraine. The bipartisan Ukraine Caucus stands with our ally in their fight for freedom,” said Rep. Jake Auchincloss (D-MA).

The congressmen said that Speaker Johnson should bring the bill from the Senate for consideration. “Ukraine is in an existential fight for its sovereignty and democracy against Putin’s illegal invasion. Only Ukraine stands between Russia and an attack on NATO. If the US abandons them, we are giving up on global democracy,” said Congressman Dan Goldman (D-NY).

Today, the Ukraine Caucus gathered to send Vladimir Putin a clear and simple message: Liberty will prevail over tyranny,” said Mike Quigley (D-IL).

On February 16, the United States House of Representatives went on recess until the end of February without voting on the bill that includes the aid package for Ukraine that was approved by the US Senate earlier in the week.
