The efforts of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB), particularly for its support of Ukrainian refugees and its role in delivering humanitarian aid, have been acknowledged in the British Parliament, according to the AUGB.
“Sally Jameson who is a Labour Party politician serving as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Doncaster Central gave a ‘shout out’ to our AUGB Doncaster Ukrainian Centre who are but one of the many branches doing fantastic work,” the message reads.
“[AUGB Doncaster Ukrainian Centre has] worked around the clock and tirelessly to support Ukrainian refugees, demonstrating the true community spirit of Doncaster,” Jameson emphasized.
The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, supported the politician. “That work that’s done in so many communities is really important in terms of the support and the welcome that is shown to refugees,” said Starmer.
In June, the AUGB was honored in the HM The King’s Birthday Honours List 2024. The AUGB was recognized for its dedication to supporting the Ukrainian community and refugees and for its extensive volunteer efforts within the community.
