Association of Ukrainians in France meets with political parties on Ukraine

The Association of Ukrainians in France (AUF), together with the Ukrainian World Congress (UWC), is promoting Ukraine’s interests by conducting a series of meetings with political parties in the country to ensure a unified stance on supporting Kyiv.

Volodymyr Kogutyak, UWC Vice President for Western Europe and AUF Vice President, announced the advocacy campaign.

On Sept. 18, a meeting took place between Sandra Regol, the president of the Ecologists party, and Jean-Pierre Pasternak, AUF Deputy Head.

“We discussed key issues such as military support for Ukraine and opportunities to deepen cooperation with the French Parliament,” Kogutyak said, thanking the politician for her support of Ukraine.

During a meeting with Renaissance party lawmaker Xavier Roseren, a member of the National Assembly, the lower house of the French Parliament, the discussion focused on providing support to Ukraine, the assistance that French instructors provide in Ukraine, and the business activities of French companies in Russia.

“We also expressed our gratitude for his unwavering support for Ukraine,” Kogutyak stated.

Support for Ukraine was also discussed with Constance Le Grip, a lawmaker from the Renaissance party, and Anna Pic and Olivier Faure, members of parliament from the Socialist Party of France.

“The only challenge we face is that we have not yet held meetings with two pro-Russian parties: the far-right party of Le Pen and the far-left party of Mélenchon. However, we strive to organize these meetings, as it is important to provide them with information and obtain clear answers to our questions,” Kogutyak said.

The UWC Vice President urged communities worldwide to conduct similar meetings with all political parties to better understand each party’s position on important issues, such as strikes on Russian territory, the provision of more military assistance, and inviting international instructors to Ukraine.

Kogutyak noted that after each meeting, it is essential to follow up work with the lawmakers on various aspects to ensure support for Ukraine at all levels.
