The Ukrainian Congress Committee of America (UCCA) and the Ukrainian National Information Service (UNIS) urge American citizens to contact the White House and President Biden, advocating for Ukraine’s membership in NATO at the forthcoming 75th Alliance Summit. “Advocacy of this very important matter will prove to be of historical significance,” UCCA writes.
The NATO Summit is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C., from July 9 to 11, 2024. This significant event will also serve as a commemoration of the 75th anniversary of NATO’s establishment in 1949. “Ukraine will undoubtedly be a main topic of discussion at the NATO Summit as the Alliance considers additional support for Ukraine to defend itself in the 28th-month of russia’s unprovoked war of aggression. Social opinion polls in Ukraine have overwhelmingly shown the public’s support of Ukraine’s intent to join the NATO alliance,” the post reads.
UCCA urges the Ukrainian community in the United States to assist Ukraine. “Your communication with the White House will highlight the aspirations of Ukraine to join the Alliance, as well as to denote the urgency of additional security assistance to Ukraine,” wrote Andriy Futey, the UWC Vice President and the UCCA President.
