The Ukrainian World Congress (UWC) is an international coordinating body for Ukrainian communities in the diaspora, representing the interests of over 20 million Ukrainians, with member organizations in over 30 countries. The UWC Task Force to Stop Human Trafficking coordinates the anti-trafficking activities of UWC member organizations worldwide and provides awareness resources and educational assistance.
We strive to connect member organizations with local NGOs, so that permanent relationships can be established for future collaboration. To this end, we look forward to working closely with the relevant bodies of the United Nations and other international and regional organizations, NGOs and government agencies. The UWC shares the view of virtually all NGOs engaged in exposing and combating this scourge: trafficking is a modern-day form of slavery and a grave violation of human rights. We further agree that the international community must do much more meaningful and tangible work to fight human trafficking.
